Digital Media for Home Systems
It is hard to find a DVD player on the store shelves without HDMI output. Cable companies and sattelite service providers also offer most of their digital settop boxes with HDMI. Our favorite game console comes with an HDMI connector, too.
But what happens if we want to see the same movie in high definition from our BluRay player, in two or more rooms at the same time?
Home Automation's Approach
High Definition Multimedia Interface or HDMI is designed to deliver uncompressed audio and video for a short distance. HDMI was not really designed with home automation in mind, therefore we need to find a method wich deals with the limitations of HDMI, takes advantage of HD and keeps our system future proof.
Crestron's Digital Media provides a holistic approach to the above. It offers various vays to combine analogue and digital sources, gives virtually unlimited flexibility with distance, keeps content protection intact. As we can expect from Crestron, Digital Media seamlessly integrates with our home automation system. In our Design Gallery, we provide a sample design to show the capabilities of Crestron's Digital Media.
